And in this corner, The Clay Extruder!

A few weeks ago I had half an hour to kill at my local craft store, so I started wandering around the store, aisle by aisle. Usually I am looking for new materials to use in dioramas, but since I currently have everything I need for my new dioramas (more info coming soon!), I thought I would explore some new customizing tools. In the clay aisle, I came across what looked like a solid metal syringe (pictured above). It’s called a clay extruder, and it’s main function is to (surprise!) extrude clay.

New Minimate Decal Template

Over the past few years using Minimate decals, I have moved on from doing only the face and chest to doing almost every part of the Minimate body. I have only started using some of these new decal areas in the last month as I have been working on my new Minimate sticker kit. Some of the characters in this kit will have decals for their face, top of head, top of torso, chest, back, sides of torso, forearms, front thighs, side thighs, and shins! I have been working on getting these sized perfectly, and I thought it would be a good time to share a new template here for other decal designers to use.

Learning the Art of Molding and Casting

As you might have seen on my Facebook page, or over at the Minimate Multiverse, I am working on molding and casting a series of Minimate-sized dioramas. The first one is pictured above, and I will have at least 4 more dioramas ready to order in the next two weeks. This is a project I have had in the works for a few months, and most of that time was spent ironing out all of the kinks in the molding and casting process. I wanted to share part of that process with you today.
