Minimate Customizing with Striping Tape Guest Post: Perfect Lines with Striping Tape - I contacted Bill Mahoney of BillMaru Toychanics about writing this guest article after seeing some great results on Facebook using this customizing tool:  Minimates are incredible. I think we can all agree on this. What makes them so...
Star Trek Minimates Sticker Decals Free Star Trek Sticker Decals - When the recent Star Trek Minimates were released, I knew it would be a good opportunity to make more of the Star Trek: TNG characters. I made a sticker decal kit with Riker, Data (2 versions), Geordi, and Beverly. These were all intended to use the Captain Picard base body. I also threw in a Battle Damaged Khan to make good use of any extra Khan figures you might have. This kit is now available here for free!
Inspiration: Tough Customs - I have posted several Tough Customs on this site over the years, and I thought I would consolidate the posts here for your inspiration: Tough Customs: The Diva Tough Customs: Galactus Tough Customs: Alpha...
AoA Colossus On the Workbench: AoA Colossus - I haven't had a lot of time for customizing lately, but one of the figures on my workbench is an Age of Apocalypse Colossus. I have wanted to have this Minimate for a long time, and luckily someone commissioned one from me, so I can make a duplicate for myself!
Vallejo Paints for Minimates Review: Vallejo Paints - I have been using Citadel paints regularly for the last 4 years or so. A few months ago I had a friend recommend Vallejo paints to me. I hadn’t heard of this brand before, so I checked into it, and ... I picked up a starter set of 12 colors, and I have been using them on all of my recent Minimate customs. The Vallejo paints are a different experience than Citadel, and both paints have their pros and cons.
Solomon Grundy Work in Progress On the Workbench: Solomon Grundy - For some reason I have always been reluctant to post work-in-progress photos. I like waiting until the final product is finished - when everything looks as good as I can make it look. But I realized that I enjoy seeing other people's work-in-progress pics, and it makes seeing their final product even more fun, so why not do it with mine? I think I am going to make this a regular feature here at the Factory. First up is Solomon Grundy!
Mojo Custom Minimate Making Mojo - The first time I gave some serious consideration to buying a 3D printer was about two years ago. I made a list of all the things I would like to make, assuming the resolution was high enough. One of the items on that list was parts to make a Mojo Minimate. I grew up reading X-Men comics and watching the animated show, so he has always been on my wanted list. And visually he is one of the most interesting Marvel villains.
Colored plastic sheets for Minimate customizing Color Plastic Sheets Update! - A few weeks ago I posted about finding a source for a new customizing tool –  color plastic cards. I ordered a full range of colors, and they have arrived! Opaque Colors The opaque...
A Better Way To Measure Minimates - As you probably know, I use a lot of vinyl stickers on my customs. I have templates pre-made for standard Minimate parts (which you can find here), but what about custom made parts? Or...
Any interest in this new customizing tool? - Over the past few years I have had to make a lot of Minimate shoulder straps, pieces of armor, knee pads, and skirts. Usually a piece of thin plastic works much better for these...
