Light-Up Iron Man Video

After I finished my Human Torch, I knew my second LED project would be a light-up Iron Man flight stand. This time I recorded a video during the entire process. Even if you are not ready to tackle your own LED project, it should be fun to watch this piece created in four-and-a-half minutes.

Edit: Please exercise better care when drilling than I did. I should not have been drilling towards my hand!

OMG… I totally cringed and had to look away with you drilling towards your hands like that… Seriously man that’s some scary stuff and an accident waiting to happen!!

    Otherwise an awesome instructional video!

That is a VERY good point. I tried to keep the drill bit short enough where even if it had went right up to the base of the drill it still would not have reached my hand, but I’m sure there was a possibility for an accident. Do as I say, not as I do!

    Very nice indeed.

Yeah, I was cringing also when you were drilling into your palm. I was thinking “this is going to hurt”. Not so much your fingers; those you can always grow back.

Thanks a lot for the video and risking your life! Did anyone realize that it is amazing how surgically clean the whole working surface is there?

I was working on a large sheet of white paper for the video. My minimate desk is covered with so much paint I’m not sure what the original color was. 🙂

At about 3:50 in the video, what tool was that you used to saw (cut, whatever) the black stand?

  7. Luke314pi says:

That is a dremel, which is a rotary tool. You can read more about it in my earlier post here.
