Over the weekend I had a rare occurrence of some free time, so I decided to start a video series on making a custom minimate from start to finish.
The possibilities for displaying your minimates are pretty much endless, and everyone has their own preferences. Today I am going to show you one possible solution. After months of working on my new minimate...
I am happy to be back on my weekly blog schedule. This week I started working on my newest minimate exclusive – the Zombie Decal Kit! As I was starting to design the first decal, I thought it might be fun to let my screen recorder save a video of the design, and then play it back at a higher speed. The video turned out well, and it played best at 4x the original speed, so that is what you will see in the video below. You can see a few places in the video where I changed my mind, and removed things that I had already added. I also tried to push the detail level really far, almost too far, just to see what it would look like. So this might not be the final design for this character. I will have more details on this kit in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, enjoy the video!
After I finished my Human Torch, I knew my second LED project would be a light-up Iron Man flight stand. This time I recorded a video during the entire process. Even if you are not ready to tackle your own LED project, it should be fun to watch this piece created in four-and-a-half minutes.
I created a short video on how to apply those tricky face decals. I noticed later that my decal ended up a little too high on the face, but it gets the point across. 🙂
